High School Sports: Why do basketball rules require home team to wear the white uniform, however, for soccer and football (and others?) the home team wears the dark uniform?

Sounds like a great adjustment and solution moving forward for Volleyball Open Division!

Keswick Girls Basketball Rosters for the 2026-27 season - varsity, JV and middle school

Villanova is converting on 59% of its field goals and 42% of its three-point attempts, but the Wildcats have committed 13 turnovers.

‘Cats lead Notre Dame, 29-26, with 4:50 left in the first half.

Best part of their story? Not ONE of them made First or Second Team All-WNBA 🤣

… And that’s why they’re the Golden State Valkyries. #WorldChamps

This has moved to my bucket list of sporting events! Too late this year to plan … some day.

Out now, the D3hoops. com women's basketball preseason Top 25! Nearly unanimous, as it turns out. d3hoops.com/notables/2026/… #d3hoops

Veronica Burton doesn't lead the Valkyries in scoring, but she's become the heart and soul of the team.

From clutch shots to relentless defense, Burton's selfless leadership has helped bring Golden State within one win of a WNBA championship.

The Sixers are one of the NBA’s iconic franchises, a history written by Wilt, Doc, Moses, Barkley and Iverson. Having lived through the heartbreak, the false messiahs, the failed processes and a championship drought that stretches all the way back to '83, I know what great Sixers els like.

And this group has a chance to be historic. There’s elite talent, professionalism and something this franchise has desperately needed: JOY.

These Sixers have juice, personality and electricity. They’re young, they’re exciting, and damn, they’re FUN!

Philadelphia, you might be falling in love again. 🏀🔥

Yo cuz!! Caught the great @AnthonyLGargano on WDAE in Tampa talking HS sports, NIL and recruiting. Always a great listen.

For the FIRST TIME since 1980, two teams are playing in the World Series both seeking their first Championship.

@peteysousa

I appreciate this thoughtful question to original post. So I’m using it for something I had in my drafts for a while…

If I was commissioner of HS + AAU basketball, here’s what the year would look like for athletes:

1. No AAU practices until April 1st. Most HS players are done in Feb so they’d get a month off

2. April-May AAU only. No HS workouts or Summer League games

3. June HS only. No AAU workouts/practices or games

4. July AAU only for live period

5. August = Dead period, no basketball

6. Sept till HS season begins: No team AAU activities except for 2 tryout dates. HS offseason practices/workouts allowed.

7. Nov - March = HS team activities only.

*1 hour training workouts can be done throughout the year*

Of course no one follows rules anymore, so this is just a pipe dream, but this is what I would see as an ideal solution for players.
