THE BORING COMPANY HQ: Bastrop, Texas, October
Here is my flyover of TBC's Bastrop headquarters and Prufrock factory. It's is where they test every machine before it ships, build and store equipment, precast tunnel segments, liner trucks, vertical cassettes and conveyor belt house their Prufrock Command Center here to control all the Prufrock's soon to be around the world.
- The SpaceX Pedestrian Tunnel started as Porpoise Test 6 (PT6). TBC first bored it to test (no people in the tunnel) ZPIT continuous mining, an upgraded liner truck and the "SNAILS on RAILS" navigation system. After the test, they turned it into a 500 ft walkway under FM1209 that connects the SpaceX site to Hyperloop Plaza, where The Boring Bodega is. People use it so they don't have to cross that busy road on foot.
- Hard-rock Prufrock-MB4 being constructed for Nashville's Music City LOOP.
- The Test Tunnel PT5 connects SpaceX's Starlink factory to TBC under FM1209. It was the first use of custom hexagonal segments, automated gantry steering, quick craneless retrieval, and the first version of ZPIT. It's now a test bench for liner trucks, vertical cassettes and new belt systems.
- Hyperloop Test Tunnel was PT4; the first craneless, pitless retrieval of the machine. It's now a vacuum tunnel for Hyperloop vacuum pump system testing. It also connects SpaceX's Starlink factory to TBC under FM1209.
- Lastly, Prufrock-5 after completing a test tunnel connecting Ring Ranch and possibly the SpaceX Starmind Factory. I videoed it right before it was loaded up and shipped to San Antonio, Texas, for the Morgan's Wonderland Tunnel.

Arizona just had a week we don't usually see.
At least 15 tornado warnings were issued across the state this week, according to the National Weather Service.
"That's a large number for Arizona," said meteorologist Mark O'Malley of @NWSPhoenix.
In Heber-Overgaard, the warning came with real destruction as people scrambled to safety.
Witnesses there, including the fire chief, said only a couple of minutes passed between the alert hitting their phones and the storm arriving.
The NWS Employees Organization called it "a short-fuse event."
The union also said @NWSFlagstaff had enough staff working that day, and that the office's vacancy rate, nearly 31% in a study last year, has improved significantly since.
The lesson: when severe weather is possible, have more than one way to get warnings. Keep alerts on and stay tuned to the NWS and local news.

I don't like Vivek's ad.
Vivek Ramaswamy's campaign is putting $4 million behind a 60-second ad starring Amy Acton's estranged mother, Donna Arthur.
"She lies about her past," Arthur says. "She's lied her entire life."
Dr. Acton has said she was sexually abused as a child by nd that her mother did nothing to protect her.
Even Governor DeWine, who endorsed Vivek, called it "deeply, deeply troubling" and said "It's wrong to run this ad."
I agree. Using a woman's painful childhood as a political weapon is wrong.
I also don't like what is being done to the late Senator Lindsey Graham.
A new documentary from The Young Turks and Swamp Watch features three men who claim Graham paid them for sex.
Those claims are unverified. Graham died in July and cannot answer them.
Reviews of the filmmakers' own records say they do not show Graham with any of the three men.
Here is my point. The media outrage should be consistent.
If dragging up a candidate's private pain is wrong, then dragging a dead man's name through unproven accusations is wrong too.
Decency should not depend on which party you belong to.

Big news out of Virginia this week.
State Senate President pro tempore L. Louise Lucas surrendered to federal authorities on October 22.
A federal indictment charges her with racketeering conspiracy, marijuana trafficking conspiracy, money laundering, and honest services fraud. Six others, including family members, were also charged.
She denies the charges, and as the Justice Department notes, an indictment is an allegation. Everyone is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

Rest in peace, Nick Wray.
Nick was Neuralink participant P8, the 8th person in the world to receive the implant.
He lived with ALS for four and a half years and passed away on August 2, 2026, at 44.
With his implant, he used his phone, his laptop, and played video games just mily wrote that he considered Neuralink and his contribution to the knowledge of the human brain to be his purpose.
He was also a drummer, a barista and manager at Grounds for Thought, fluent in French, and a lover of Aruba and good coffee.
Thank you, Nick. What you gave will help every patient who comes after you.
Prayers and love to Alexia, his parents, his siblings, and all who miss him.
