Interesting. I've been to both as well. I've traveled across Croatia, from Istria to Dubrovnik, spending most of my time in Istria (Rovinj, Poreč) and Dubrovnik. I've also spent three months in Spain, visiting Valencia, Gandia, Marbella, and Gibraltar. And for me, it's not even close. Spain wins in virtually every category.
What really put me off Croatia was the attitude of the locals. The constant displays of that stereotypical Balkan mentality, the rudeness, and the general lack of hospitality drove me absolutely mad on more than one occasion. Food freshness was often disappointing, prices were outrageous, even in winter, and the cleanliness of the sea was nowhere near what you're describing. I've literally seen diapers, sanitary pads, and other disgusting waste floating in the water, not to mention the unpleasant smells in certain areas.
Spain, on the other hand, felt like a completely different league. Better food, friendlier people, more diverse landscapes, better overall atmosphere, and a far more enjoyable experience.
Obviously, everyone's experience is subjective, but having spent considerable time in both countries, I genuinely struggle to think of a single category where I'd choose Croatia over Spain.

@msdevelx @TimurNegru Also the grafitti is annoying..but its everywhere in Europe, regardless of country. However beaches and social life seem significantly better in many parts of Europe (anywhere really) than the US beaches and coasts. Not to mention the beaches.

@msdevelx @TimurNegru Interesting indeed. Ya I didnt get that experience in Croatia. Maybe because im visiting from USA. I've seen that mentality you mentioned in Romania at the seaside, also in Turkey. A lot of it. But I am used to that there. Spain and Italy had other unsavory social elements.

@msdevelx @TimurNegru Been to both. I dont think it rly compares.
Summer the water, beach, activities, and friendliness of people are superior in Croatia over Spain. Much cleaner from what I saw. I am speaking Dubrovnik, Split, Zadar, others. Also many more islands and boating activities in Croatia.

NATO warns Zelensky that Trump could completely halt air defense supplies to Ukraine
The US has been supplying Ukraine with Patriot interceptor missiles irregularly in recent months, even though European allies have already paid for them.
According to Bloomberg, NATO officials fficials that deliveries could stop entirely if the conflict between Zelensky and Trump continues.
Meanwhile, The New York Times reports that Witkoff and Kushner intend to push Ukraine into a peace deal on Russia’s terms.
The Americans are trying to persuade Zelensky to abandon claims to occupied territories in exchange for a deal that would benefit Moscow.

Trump may try to force Ukraine to make concessions to Russia before December
According to The Washington Post, Moscow is trying to use the Trump administration to secure Ukrainian concessions on Donbas. The Kremlin could later demand restrictions on Ukraine’s military Andrew Weiss, an expert at the Carnegie Endowment, believes Trump’s actions are linked to efforts to reach a political settlement on terms that could force Kyiv to make concessions.
A G20 summit is scheduled to take place in Miami in December, and Trump has invited Putin.
The Kremlin views these developments as a sign of closer ties between Moscow and Washington.

The US president can fantasize about Ukraine’s surrender all he wants. Putin has been dreaming of the same thing for years. On both awaits a bitter disappointment ✌️
Thank you to all of you who stand with Ukraine 🇺🇦 Your supportive posts and comments mean so much to us especially 🙏❤️

US and Poland close to deal for large base with 10,000 US troops.
“We want the kind of U.S. presence that would reassure us, but not be threatening to Russia,” Poland PM Sikorski said. “And we hope that President Trump keeps the promise.”

🇬🇧🇪🇺 The UK is closer than ever to rejoining the EU
Burnham refused to rule out rejoining.
🔸 Rejoin could win him millions of votes
🔸 Support for rejoining has reached 61%, the highest ever
🔸 Britain can only be a superpower alongside Europe’s Big Six, never alone
🔸 Together, we must build a third pole independent of the US and China
Britain’s future is European.
Rejoining is only a matter of time.

Latest on Ukraine talks: People familiar with the talks in Kyiv tell @FT Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner brought updated versions of earlier documents, revised to reflect the changed circumstances since peace negotiations stalled in February, at the outset of the US war with Iran.
But the Trump envoys came with few new ideas, the people said, and were instead seeking to revive earlier proposals and to narrow differences between Kyiv and Moscow. A central issue is the remaining Ukrainian-held territory in the Donbas, which Russia has claimed as its own but has failed to capture despite years of fighting.
The eastern region, some 75% of which is under Russian control, is a red line for Zelenskyy, who has insisted that Ukraine would never hand over that territory or any other territory that Moscow’s forces occupy.

@ChristopherJM @FT it's obvious to all sides, including Zelenskiy, that Ukraine has no chance to recover the territory that has been captured by RUS during the last 12 years.
what the talks are really about is giving away territory that RUS hasn't captured. To that, the answer is no way.

@RittOnTwitt75 @ChristopherJM @FT Will...your assessment is not accurate and wrong. Ukraine can and will capture everything. Especially once the Trump administration is replaced with a more sensible administration in the US.

Mike Johnson says Republicans can’t lose the midterms because, if they do, a nightmare scenario will take place where Democrats investigate President Trump and his family, which would roil the markets, undermine confidence in the U.S., and empower our enemies across the globe.
