elon is dumb you can’t penetrate walls with the spectrum band they use, but also ban starlink from directly providing wireless services on these same spectrums please and thank you
AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile are jointly lobbying the FCC to preserve existing rules as @SpaceX moves closer to launching its own independent cellular network that would compete directly with the three major U.S. carriers.
On Oct 20th, reps from all three major U.S. wireless carrials to push back against proposed changes that would give satellite companies more freedom to offer cellular service.
The carriers urged the FCC to:
• Block satellite companies from using certain 5G frequencies currently used by wireless carriers.
• Keep rules requiring satellite companies to get permission from wireless carriers before using their licensed spectrum.
• Allow wireless carriers to maintain control over these agreements, including the ability to end them.
• Reconsider proposed interference limits to protect existing cellular networks.
Based on all the public communications from these carriers, and the lobbying, they are clearly worried that SpaceX's @Starlink Mobile network is going to be a major competitor to them. Starlink Mobile will become the first network operator to deploy both satellite and terrestrial spectrum.
The FCC recently announced that they are considering new rules that could make it easier for satellite companies like SpaceX to offer cellular service without relying as heavily on existing wireless carriers, so this is partly what the three big carriers are fighting against.

while it's true that i'm using technology more than ever due to AI, as the technology improves and matures the end goal for me is to actually use it less. as autonomous bots and agents blend seamlessly into the background and allow me to be more present in the real world, only bothering me when it needs clarity
i wish more could see the world we're about to enter. no time for blackpills

while it's a good thing to point out the obvious multitude of lies we've been told in previous decades for profit, ultimately you grow up and realize that right or wrong isn't real. it's just a fiction we spin to feel good.
winning vs losing is the only tangible.

Palmer Luckey says companies are exaggerating the cost of American manufacturing to justify staying in China: “They don’t want to admit that it is a choice.” 🇺🇸🇨🇳
“I don’t have a lot of sympathy for people who pretend that manufacturing in the U.S. is this impossible, lem. A lot of it is very self-serving.
They want to justify why they’re in China. They want to justify why it’s OK for them to stay in China. They know that when sanctions hit as a result of a potential Taiwan conflict, they want to say, ‘Nobody could’ve predicted this, and I had no choice anyway.’
They don’t want to admit that it is a choice.
If Chinese subsidized steel is a third of the price of American unsubsidized steel, a tariff isn’t going to work. But if the price difference really is 30%, then a tariff could bring the American steel industry back.
It’s critically important to get this question right, and there aren’t enough people talking about it.”

nobody, literally ever:
doctors: i'll leave if you force me to pay lower taxes and let me practice medicine freely
doctors: i'll leave if you force me to pay lower taxes and let me practice medicine freely
As you vote, consider:
1. 55% of doctors say they’d leave Alberta if we voted to separate [AMA].
2. 50% of Calgary businesses say they’d leave or reduce activity if we proceeded with separation process [Calgary Chamber].
3. Bank of Montreal’s operating headquarters is Toronto.

it's a true midwit signal if someone believes there is the most remote correlation between giving money to charities and organizations for "cancer research" and actually solving cancer
if you really wanted to solve cancer, you'd be funding every frontier lab you could
if you really wanted to solve cancer, you'd be funding every frontier lab you could
This is funny because Elon literally cut 4 billion dollars worth of cancer research funding through @DOGE.
"You'd hate him if he did something good!"
Well.... he's literally doing the exact opposite of that good thing so here we are.

so there we have it. he wants to be a hero. he’s mostly upset that he can’t be a hero anymore.
hubris gets the best of us too, nobody is immune.
by far the biggest reason people hate AI is overwhelmingly because it exposes all of us, and how mediocre we are.

Mathematician Terence Tao:
"we're seeing the end of the romantic era of mathematics, the age of heroes. we're moving into an industrial era where math becomes large-scale, done in big teams like the other sciences"
We're entering, rather unwillingly, a new era where exciting , but some things are being lost

asking how an AI is going to do an archaic holdover job from a human centric era is a telltale midwit signal.
it’s like asking how a robot is going to replace a faulty analog volume button in a vehicle then tesla comes along and says “it’s all just a touchscreen now bro”

canadian banks will happily launder billions for drug cartels that kidnap, r4p3 and sex traffic young children and women but they won't bank someone for wanting less immigration, or more sensible fiscal policy.
lmao. what can you even say anymore.
