Update on my Revolut post from this morning ๐
Here's what we know now:
โข Issues in Google Cloud's europe-west2 region started around 07:00 BST
โข Google says es are suffering network failures
โข Thousands of Revolut customers reported problems making payments and accessing funds
โข @LloydsBank, @HSBC, @Barclays and @BankofScotland users are also reporting issues
โข DPD and Royal Mail are among the other businesses showing up on Downdetector
โข Budgeting app Emma confirmed it's down because of the Google Cloud outage
There's no confirmation yet that Revolut or the other banks are linked to Google Cloud.
Emma also made one thing clear:
๐ฌ "This is a technical outage, not a security issue."
@HalifaxBank says it's "aware some customers are having issues" with its app and website.
It hasn't confirmed whether that's linked to Google Cloud either.
Google's latest:
๐ฌ "We are experiencing an issue with multiple services in europe-west2... Our engineering team continues to investigate the issue."
It started before most people had their morning coffee.
Hours later, Google is still investigating..
