Former Israeli diplomat to Uruguay and Montreal thinks it’s justified to raze an entire neighborhood with over 1000 inhabitants and make them all homeless as a measure of collective punishment for killing two Israeli soldiers.

He argues that collective punishment (a war crime) is justified because ”you can’t guarantee they’re all innocent”
@3lfares One neighborhood. Not razed. You can't guarantee they're all innocent. Or civilians. The terrorists didn't come for two soldiers. The soldiers died while preventing them to murder anyone else. I know it's a weird concept for Palestinians.

It’s not ”self-defense” to raze entire Palestinian neighborhoods, full of innocent civilians, because two Israeli soldiers on occupied territory were killed
@3lfares Palestinians are somehow exempt from any obligation under international law and mention it only when they want to narrow Israel's steps to defend themselves against the Palestinian attacks.

This is terrible.
Syrian girls and women, with or without veils, constitute a core part of Syrian society, and erasing and censuring them is despicable in so many ways.

The Syrian government must be pressured to reverse these changes.
Mohammad Salloum’s reportage includes additional screenshots which provide a very strict interpretation of Islamic dress for women and men, in addition to erasing girls from illustrations, or replacing existing illustrations with cartoonish depictions.

The Falklands are, and will remain, British! 🇫🇰🇬🇧
Benjamin Netanyahu has ordered Israel to support Argentina over the Falklands, The Telegraph can reveal.

The Israeli prime minister told diplomats to change his country’s official position and join Buenos Aires in calling for direct talks over the future of the islands.

”Palestinians are illegally occupying Israel”

Lmfao even
@3lfares Palestinians are illegally occupying Israel. Palestinians have no right to violence of any sorts. That's International Law. Palestinians should negotiate peacefully, it's Jewish land.

You killed Christians and my family members in Gaza while sheltering at their church and never even apologized. Go to hell with your performative statement
Israel offers its profound condolences to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, as well as the families of the victims, following the tragic terrorist attack at a church in Karak.

Targeting a place of worship and murdering innocent believers constitutes a severe assault on freedom of religion.

We wish a full and speedy recovery to the wounded and reiterate our solidarity with Jordan in the struggle against terrorism and extremism.

There is no such thing in international law called ”FAFO”.

There is however a prohibition on collective punishment, forced displacement and genocide, all of which Israel perpetrates.
@3lfares It is called FAFO🤡

The comment section is full of genocidal Zionists who think it’s alright to raze an entire civilian neighborhood as retaliation for attacks on legitimate military targets on illegally occupied territory.
Killing occupying soldiers on duty in illegally occupied territories is completely legal under international law.

Collective punishment is not.

If you can’t spot the difference between the two, it’s because you are ignorant.

Fork found in the kitchen.
I’m grieving the deaths of the two Israeli soldiers killed in Hebron today, and praying for the full & speedy recovery of those who were injured.

I’ve spoken out loudly this week against Israel’s occupation of the West Bank, which imposes violence on a daily basis, and I will continue to do so. But violence is not the path to ending it — or to achieving safety, freedom, and peace for both Palestinians and Israelis.

And neither is collective punishment or ethnic cleansing of an entire neighborhood, or punishing millions of people for the criminal act of two, which Netanyahu has promised to enact in response.

I’ve seen a lot this week and I’ll have more to say about in the coming days (I’m on my way home shortly). There is a path to ending this excruciating cycle of violence. It starts by insisting that every life is sacred, that everyone is created in God’s image.

For now: Shabbat Shalom, to everyone who believes in the hard work of making peace & justice a reality, for everyone.

Again, anyone defending this genocidal regime is no different from a Nazi
Israel’s prime minister has gone from advocating collective punishment against the families of those who carried out these attacks to calling for the destruction of entire neighborhoods.
