We’re excited to see what’s being built.
We’re launching the 16VC Accelerator, our first accelerator.
We previously launched an online fellowship, and one thing became clear:
founders learn faster when they’re in the room together.
So we’re taking it offline.
25 founders. 3 cities. $200K upfront.
SF · NYC · London
We’ll work alongside founders on product, customers, distribution, hiring, fundraising and everything in between.
This isn’t about building the biggest cohort. It’s about being genuinely useful to the founders we select.
Apply by Oct 4 tiny.cc/16vcapply

started interviewing founders for the 16vc accelerator today.
sometimes i see a great opportunity in a product that the founder hasn’t noticed yet.
should i point it out or let them discover it themselves?

reviewing startup applications is a reminder that a good idea is only the beginning.
i want to understand three things about every founder:
1. why this problem matters.
2. why they're the right person to solve it.
3. what they've learned from talking to customers.
the quality of the thinking matters as much as the pitch.

one thing i've learned about startups:
you don't always need more ideas.
sometimes you need to talk to 10 potential customers, understand why they aren't buying, and fix that one problem.
distribution gets easier when you understand who you're building for.

founders, i have a question.
if you had to grow your startup to $10k in monthly revenue without spending money on ads, what would you do first?
i'm interested in the actual tactics you'd use, not generic advice.

quick update on the 16vc accelerator.
we've completed the application review, with 46 startups moving to the next stage.
interview invitations will be sent by email on monday.
we've shortlisted close to 50 startups across levels 1–3. the remaining applications will continue through the review process.
big thanks to the team for going above and beyond during the review.

We receive a lot of pitches at 16VC.
Some move to the next stage.
Some are put on hold.
Some need more time.
And sometimes, we simply don't have enough information to make a decision yet.
We don't believe in sending bulk rejection emails just to close the loop. But that also means some founders may be left waiting, and we recognize that's frustrating.
We can't provide individual feedback on every pitch. With the volume of applications we receive, doing so properly isn't always possible.
But if you've applied to 16VC and haven't heard back, we'd still like to hear from you.
Email pitch@16vc.co with the following subject line:
Application Update | [Startup Name] | [Founder Name]
In your email, share:
- What you're building
- What you've achieved since applying
- Your latest traction, revenue, users, or product progress
Things change quickly at the early stage. An application that didn't move forward months ago might look very different today.
Your progress matters more than your original application.
Please understand that sending an update doesn't guarantee a response or another review. You may still not hear back from us, and we want to be transparent about that.
Regardless, keep building. Keep making progress. Keep going.

when i was in chennai, i kept planning meetups in bangalore.
now that i'm actually in bangalore, i haven't organised a single one.
funny how sometimes we want something more when it's far away than when it's finally within reach.
anyway, if you're hosting anything in bangalore, a walk, book club, coffee meetup, founder gathering, or just a bunch of people hanging out, tag me.
would love to meet new people, make friends, and be part of the community.

raising $10m doesn't mean you've won.
and selling your company for $30m doesn't necessarily mean you've won either.
founders spend years chasing funding without understanding how much of the eventual outcome they'll actually keep.
let's talk about it. 🧵

time to hire a brand designer at 16vc.
i've been handling marketing and social media myself, but honestly, our website and social media don't look as good as they should.
i think what's missing is a strong brand designer who can bring everything together visually.
so, we're hiring a full-time brand designer. remote role.
comment with your work and i'll reach out.

Great companies can start anywhere.
Silicon Valley.
Bengaluru.
London.
Lagos.
Toronto.
Geography can influence access to capital, talent, and customers.
But ambition isn't limited to one city.
We're building 16VC with a global perspective because the next important company could come from anywhere.

raising your first round is harder when you don't know what investors are looking for.
before you start pitching, get clear on:
- how much you need to raise
- what you'll achieve with that capital
- why your startup is worth backing
- why now is the right time
i'm breaking this down in my november 5 workshop.

india's startup funding story needs more nuance than "vc money is back" or "vc money is gone."
by october 15, 2026, indian startups had raised $10.9b across 1,253 rounds.
that's 6.8% more capital than the same period last year, but across fewer rounds.
the question for founders isn't just whether capital exists.
it's why investors choose one company over another.
