PICNIC TO RIDE ONLY AS PRO TEAM IN 2027?
Multiple sources confirmed to Velo Club that PicNic PostNL is considering applying only for ProTeam status next season, after also receiving their WorldTour licence for just one year last season.
To be honest, I would actually like this e every single WorldTour event could allow PicNic to focus more on the races that really suit them. And if PicNic does race as a ProTeam, 4th place in the second division would be enough to qualify for all WorldTour events in 2027.
Meanwhile, as several sites have already reported, Lidl-Trek is seriously interested in Filippo Ganna. That possibility becomes even more interesting now, with Lidl-Trek having one spot available in their 2027 roster after Jacopo Mosca’s retirement. Mosca will become a Lidl-Trek DS next year.
Ganna has so far decided not to comment on the rumours, only saying that yes, he is currently an Ineos rider, but he doesn’t know what will happen next year.
