October 2026: By fall, Republican congressional leaders started saying the quiet part out loud admitting that the mid-decade redistricting strategy was heading toward failure right before Election Day. But by then, it was already too late.

The results? Voters overcame biased maps to elect more Democrats in states like North Carolina, Ohio, and Texas, while voters in Missouri overwhelmingly rejected the gerrymandered map via referendum.
