Prioritize fiber-rich whole grains. Think oats, brown rice, whole-grain bread, and corn tortillas instead of the refined grain versions. Try reducing the amount of highly processed food and refined carbohydrates you eat, such as white bread, ready-to-eat or packaged breakfast s, and crackers.
Start with one small change: swap a refined grain for a fiber-rich, whole grain option at your next meal.

Most people age 14 and up should aim to keep sodium under 2,300 milligrams a day. Toddlers and children should consume even less.
The bulk of sodium sneaks in through highly processed foods, not the salt shaker. Cooking at home gives you more control.
Start with one small change: food you eat often with whole, nutrient-dense foods. Think dairy with no added sugars, vegetables, fruits, whole grains, and protein foods (meat, fish, and legumes).

More than 1 in 3 women and more than 1 in 6 men experience sexual or physical violence by an intimate partner during their lifetimes. This is why, during Domestic Violence Awareness Month, HHS is working across teams to invest in proven resources to prevent domestic violence and ACFHHS has issued a call for new domestic violence prevention services and is awarding $237 million to local organizations that help prevent family violence, domestic violence, dating violence, and provide critical services to communities across the country.

Meanwhile, the @CDCgov is working to implement these evidence-based violence prevention strategies at both the state and local levels through their Domestic Violence Prevention Enhancements and Leadership Through Alliances (DELTA) program.

This week, I joined @NIHDirector_Jay, @DrOzCMS, and @DrSchwartzCDC at NIH to open a historic clinic dedicated to studying and caring for patients experiencing health problems following vaccination.

We must listen to patients and families who report vaccine injuries—not dismiss dent Trump and I are building a health system that takes them seriously, follows the evidence, and uses what we learn to make vaccines safer.

This is how we earn back trust in our public health institutions.

CDC is aware of and closely monitoring reports of a suspected case of pneumonic plague in the Irkutsk region of Russia that resulted in a death. We are working across the U.S. government to assess developments as additional information becomes available.

While the circumstances of this reported case remain unconfirmed, plague is a serious bacterial disease that is treatable with antibiotics, particularly when recognized and treated early.

Pneumonic plague can spread person-to-person through respiratory droplets during close contact, which is why rapid identification and treatment of infected individuals, and monitoring of potentially exposed individuals, are important public health measures.

At this time, there is no indication of a broader threat to the United States, but CDC and our interagency partners are prepared and will continue to monitor the situation closely.
