Tight hip flexors shorten your stride. But that's not the worst part 👇

When your hip flexors get tight, the obvious problem is you can't stride as far.

The sneaky problem is what happens ABOVE the hips.

Tight hip flexors pull your pelvis into an anterior tilt and keep your sion. Now your trunk can't rotate the way it should, and it can't transfer speed up the chain into your arm.

Locked in tilt ➡️ crappy rotation ➡️ less arm speed.

There isn't just one hip flexor. There are three main ones, and each needs its own stretch:

1️⃣ PSOAS
The deep hip flexor that attaches right into your low back. This is the one with a ton of control over your low back position.
✅ Half kneel, tuck your pelvis under, and squeeze the glute on the down leg. You should feel it deep in the front of the hip, not in your low back.

2️⃣ TFL
Sits on the outside of the hip.
✅ From the same half kneel, reach the arm up on the down-knee side and side bend away. Feel it open up along the outside of the hip.

3️⃣ RECTUS FEMORIS
The quad muscle that crosses the hip, running straight down the front of the thigh.
✅ Elevate the back foot on a bench or couch, then tuck the pelvis. This one is no joke.

HOW TO USE IT
🔹 Hold each stretch 30 seconds
🔹 2 rounds per side
🔹 Great in your warm up or after you throw

Why the back leg matters most 👇

Your back leg is the one driving down the mound and extending behind you. If those hip flexors are tight, they cut your stride short and drag your pelvis into that tilt. Prioritize the back leg, but still hit both sides.

Which one was the tightest for you? 1, 2, or 3? 👇

Tight, heavy forearm after you throw? 👇

This is one of our favorite ways to get the forearm feeling loose again.

1️⃣ SLACK: Bend the elbow and wrist so the flexors are fully relaxed. That lets you sink deep into the muscle.

2️⃣ TENSION: Hold that pressure while the elbow, nd. Now you're gliding through the muscle as it lengthens instead of just rubbing over the top of it.

Slack to get in. Tension to get through.

No partner? You can do it solo by using your other forearm on a bench, like in the video.

BUT here's the part most pitchers miss 👇

This is icing on the cake. It's a great recovery tool after the fact, but it's not the long term fix.

That tight, heavy feeling usually comes from a forearm that wasn't strong enough or didn't have the endurance to handle the stress of an outing. Underprepared muscles get beat up.

So use this as part of your recovery work, AND make sure your forearm is built up going into next season. Strength + endurance first, recovery tools second.

Save this for after your next outing and send it to a pitcher who needs it.

Pitchers! Remember this when planning your offseason 👇

For every week you shut down from throwing, you should factor in 2 weeks to build back up to be game-ready!

Ex: 4 week shutdown needs ~8 week build up to be best prepared for game intensity

I see a lot of pitchers shut down for a large amount of time and then don't have enough runway to build back up for live BP's and games come the start of the year.

Pitchers LOVE This Exercise!

Why It’s Awesome 👇

The Initial External Rotation combines two crucial muscle groups
1- Rotator Cuff
2- Mid Scap Muscles

When you punch up to the sky, this quickly increases the lever arm. Simply put, it makes it way harder on both muscle groups
limiting factor, you will definitely feel it fatigue out at a far quicker pace OR you will be unable to hold your hand back

Really cool exercise that is great for strengthening and also gives you some good insight into which part is weak

PS. If you are a BEAST, load up the cable machine and try this out!

Thousands of pitchers have saved this one for a reason

1. Point your fingers back toward your knees. That puts your forearm flexors and pronator on a full stretch

2. Press your fingertips gently into the ground. That light isometric keeps the muscle working while it's what helps your forearm feel recovered instead of just stretched.

Want to go deeper? Here's the full tendon loading approach 👇

TENDON LOADING PROTOCOL

1️⃣ Long Duration, Low Intensity Isometrics (Tendon Health)
Hold at 20 to 30% effort for 30 to 45 seconds. Low, steady load like this can help calm a cranky forearm down. The fingertip press above is exactly this.
2 to 3 sessions per day, spaced 6 to 8 hours apart.

2️⃣ High Intensity Isometrics (Tendon Stiffness and Strength)
Once things feel good, progress to 3 to 6 second holds at 70%+ effort to rebuild stiffness and improve how your arm absorbs force.
2 to 4x per week. Avoid high load days right before throwing

3️⃣ Nutritional Support
15g collagen + 50mg vitamin C about 1 hour before loading may support collagen synthesis and tendon remodeling. The research is mixed, but it's a low risk add.

If something actually hurts, get it checked out by a professional in your area first. This is for recovery, not a replacement for treatment.

Save this for your next bullpen and send it to a pitcher who needs it.
