MY COMMITMENT TO YOU
Coaches and players, it is a high priority to me that every play diagram and every video I post is as authentic as possible to the original Delaware system. Everything is first verified through the original books and Raymond era Delaware game/clinic film. If e point it out. I don’t care about being right. I just want to bring precision Wing-T content and revive the Delaware system into the digital era in a convenient way that benefits everybody.

In addition, there is quite a bit of exceptional post-Raymond era Wing-T innovation that has occurred. I also draw up new Wing-T play concepts and share them here. When I do share that kind of newer content I will always label it as “Wing-T Dev Lab” and I’ll gladly give credit when I know who developed it.

Delaware Rules:
2 (TE): Spread: Crack-Stalk, Split: Down, Tight: Gap-Post-Read Down
3 (RT): Fire-on-backer (4 may gut 3 single gap)
4 (RG): Fire-on-backer (4 may gut 3 single gap)
5 (C): Fire-on-backer
6 (LG): Fire-on-backer (Pull with 6 call)
7 ut off (short yardage or goal line, pull check)
QB: Reverse pivot, follow mid-line, handoff to LH, bootleg at 9
LH: Carrier, read FB's block
RH: Block first free man inside
FB: Head for tail of 2 man (TE), block 1st man outside of RH, block either way

FUN MADDEN WING-T EASTER EGG

For the old school SEGA/SNES Madden gamers, there is one authentic Delaware Wing-T play hidden in Madden 95 with an absolutely wild back story (which I'll share more if you all want to hear it). Short version is I worked for EA back in the day and I e re-code all the plays... So what would any proper wing-t coach do in that situation? Of course I added Delaware's 121 (buck sweep) into the "Far" formation as an Easter egg. Exec team loved it and it shipped! :)

DELAWARE WING-T 30 SERIES COMPANION PLAYS

Nevada Union running Delaware’s 21 (buck sweep) out of Red or Blue (double wing) with TE out wide. Every single position did their job. The angles, the fakes, the mesh, the velocity… perfection!!! 🔥🏈🫡

COLLEGE FOOTBALL 27 WING-T

It’s Saturday which means college football, which also means my incessant search continues for plays in CF27 which remotely resemble wing-t … and I found a GEM!!! Iowa’s Singleback Wing Slot formation has three plays kind of similar to the 20 series ors. A franken-wing-t if you will. Allow me to elaborate…

- ZONE FAKE JET has the HB attacking to the left side of the QB and the motion WR threatens the right perimeter. Think 124 and 121.
- PA JET SWEEP has play action + waggle’ish routes.
- JET SWEEP attacks the right side as buck sweep sort of would.

Lastly the formation itself looks similar to Delaware’s RED, but with the left WB further out as a WR.

Today’s goal: 500+ rushing yards! 🔥🏈

Each series can be flipped to run in either direction out of any Delaware formation. Run any 20 series play out of multiple looks!

Update: For those new to the wing-t, a “series” refers to the backfield action, not to any specific play. That’s why this diagram doesn’t show any o-line assignments or any particular ball carrier.

3 (RT): Gap - on - area (pull - check vs eagle)
4 (RG): Pull - read 6's block - clean up chase - block out (do not pull vs eagle)
5 (C): ull - hook 2nd man from 5
7 (LT): Gap - down - on
8 (SE): Tight: Waggle pattern, Spread: Fly
QB: Reverse pivot - fake to LH - option run or pass
LH: Block 1st man outside of 3 man's block
RH: Fake 21 - key middle safety - run crossing pattern
FB: Dive for inside foot of 6 man - block 6 man's area - slide delayed into flat
