Bitcoin vs TallyMoney? Wrong argument.

Digital asset or gold - both challenge the fiat currency system that is designed to devalue people’s money.

TallyMoney Founder @CameronJParry joins @JayW132 at The Bitcoin Collective to discuss why Bitcoin and instant gold are allies, not enemies.

Watch the full interview 👇

The UK sold 395 tonnes of gold between 1999 and 2002.

The sales were announced to the market in advance, so everyone knew the flood was coming.

Raised $3.5 billion at the time. It's worth over $50 billion today.

Your bank pays you interest. Inflation takes it straight back. 💸

New analysis from Moneyfacts shows that nearly 1 in 3 UK savings accounts pay less in interest than inflation.

So your balance grows, but your buying power shrinks.
Some reward for being a good saver, eh?

Don't just check your balance. Check what it's actually worth.

Inflation: 3.5%.
National debt: £3 trillion.
September borrowing: £24.5bn.

Not exactly pretty reading, is it? 🧮

The worst part? Forecasters are expecting inflation to get WORSE.

This is why TallyMoney exists: They can create more pounds. They can't print more gold.

Funny how that works.

🥶 Inflation’s heating up. Shame our homes aren't.

1.7 million UK households plan to leave the heating OFF this winter.
Inflation. Energy bills. Interest rates.

Big decisions in Westminster. Cold feet in your living room.

That's the cost of living crisis. Literally.

At TallyMoney, we believe protecting your purchasing power matters more than ever when everyday essentials keep getting more expensive.

GLASTONBURY’S BACK. AND APPARENTLY SO ARE HIGHER PRICES. 🙄🎪
2025 ticket : £378.50
2027 ticket : £408

That’s nearly 8% more pounds to get through the gates at the same Worthy Farm. 💷
Lovely.

But here’s where it gets interesting 👇
2025: around 5,799 tally
2027: around 4,059 tally
Because 1 tally = 1mg of physical gold you own.

So the ticket got nearly 8% more expensive in pounds…. And around 30% cheaper in tally.
Funny thing about money.
How much you have matters…what it actually buys matters more.💡

So… what exactly is the good option here? 🤔
The Bank of England makes its next interest rate decision on 5 November.
Inflation is already above target.

Keep them high? Puts downward pressure on inflation but borrowing stays painful.
Cut them? More money starts sloshing around the economy again but saving rates may come down too .

Neither choice is simply “good” or “bad”. They come with trade-offs. 🙄
And for savers, there’s another question worth asking:

Is my money actually maintaining its purchasing power?

Because watching the number in your savings account grow means less if the cost of the things you buy is rising too.
With TallyMoney, 1 tally = 1 milligram of physical gold you own.

You can hold it. Spend it. Transfer it.

Because watching the number in your savings account inch up means very little if what it buys keeps going down. 🔢🏦📉

House prices are up. Or are they? 🏠👀
UK house prices have risen 26% in pounds over the last decade.

Measure those same houses in gold?
They’ve fallen by around 57%.

Same houses. Same decade. Very different result.
Which is slightly awkward if you’ve spent the last 10 years diligently stacking pounds for a deposit… 😬

Because saving for a home isn’t just about how much you save.
It’s also about what you save IN.

Our latest blog takes a look at this 👇

OH, COME ON. NOT AGAIN. 🙄
Energy bills rise 4% from today.
And January may have another rise waiting  😩

Funny how prices keep moving up, while the pound in your savings account is still just … a pound.
That’s the problem.

Saving isn’t only about how much money you have. It’s about what that money can actually buy and that’s only going one way ⬇️

TallyMoney gives you another option.
Your savings can be held in tally, where 1 tally = 1 milligram of physical gold you own.

Gold fluctuates in value in the short term, but since Tallymoney launched in 2019, savings held in tally have grown by more than 15% p.a. on average 🚀

If prices keep changing, maybe where you keep your money deserves a rethink too.

Saving for a house? The price depends on what you measure it in.
Over ten years, the average UK home went:
• In pounds: £217k → £273k (up 26%) 📈
• In gold: 213 oz → 90 oz (down 58%) 📉
Same housing market. Very different picture.
So why save your entire house fund in pounds? With TallyMoney, you can build savings in gold through an everyday account you can access any time. 👇

"Persistently high inflation." 👀
Three words doing a lot of heavy lifting.
Because the longer prices keep rising, the less your pounds can buy. That's why TallyMoney exists: an everyday account where your balance is held in gold, not pounds.

💷 MONEY MYTH MONDAY
❌ MYTH: “I'll wait until gold starts going up again before I buy.”

When gold falls, your pounds buy more of it.
And sometimes it helps to zoom out.

Since TallyMoney started seven years ago, gold priced in pounds has risen by more than 150%, or to put it return each year.

That doesn't mean gold rises every day. It doesn't. And in the short term it’s true that it can also go down.

But if you're buying for the long term, why wait for it to become more expensive?
A dip means your money buys more gold.
