MagicSchool AI 💜 🪄✨ retweeted
With all the talk about @Google's monopolistic, harmful Gemini decisions in K-12 yesterday, it's a good moment to remind ourselves that this has been Google's playbook all along.
Ever wonder why Google is so interested in getting Chromebooks into K-12 schools?
Getting kids and Workspace?
Getting kids to use YouTube?
Maybe refer to their own leaked internal documents... or ask Gemini.
When I was teacher and principal, my school used Google Classroom. I never asked these questions. It was designed this way, the only option, infrastructure, a "good enough" product with few alternatives.
I never considered the cost to my students. I didn't consider that Google was using this essential piece of infrastructure to push (then nascent) Google Workspace on kids.
I didn't have the thought that maybe Google was making money of my students' eyes with their YouTube ads and perfect algorithm to make the next video one that kept them watching longer.
It's what a monopoly does, subtly convince you all of this is necessary and required, it's the only option, and slip into the background so you do not consider these things.
I only started considering them 3 years ago when I started leading @magicschoolai and understanding how tech companies work (and making my own decisions about how we would never engage in these practices with students).
We must all start to become conscious consumers of technology. We owe our children an education that gives them agency in the world, not has them succumb to the desires of big tech companies like Google. We need to teach this actively to educators, students, and families.
It's time to get Google out of schools.

MagicQuizzes build quick formative assessments from your own lesson slides or notes, so you can check understanding while it still matters.
Students get immediate, specific feedback as they answer, or all at the end if you’d rather, and open response questions recognize partial ual scores, class-wide results, and the misconceptions that came up, which makes a pre-assessment or an exit ticket a good place to start. Then you decide what to reteach.
Try MagicQuizzes today! app.magicschool.ai/workflows/quiz…

A new student slides into the back row this morning, backpack still zipped, and every word on the board is unfamiliar.
You ask Raina to translate your slides into Spanish and add visuals for key vocabulary. A few seconds later, they look up and find words they can read.
The you make with them in that first moment. Raina just helps make room for it.💜
Making today’s lesson more accessible is only a click away. Try Raina in the Presentation Generator: app.magicschool.ai/tools/teacher/…

Digital Citizenship Week wraps up today, and screen time belongs in that conversation.
Families and school boards are asking what students actually do on their devices, and the answer matters as much as the minutes. As Allen Schagene, Professional Development and Community ol, put it in our recent webinar, “not all screen time is created equal.”
In this clip, Karisa Schwanekamp, Solutions Architect at MagicSchool, explains why modeling responsible AI use is a good place to start. Carrie Douglass, Assistant Director for Teaching and Learning at Klein ISD, also shares how her district frames screen use for staff and families.

92% of districts are piloting or operationalizing AI for students.
Only 23% of educators say they have strong visibility into how students are using it.
That's the gap many district leaders are living in right now. And 77% believe adoption is moving faster than safety and Oct 28 at 2PM ET, we're sitting down with leaders who've closed that gap:
→ Dr. Kali Peracchia, Lead AI Instructional Specialist, Denver Public Schools, CO
→ Dr. Barbara Mullen, Superintendent, Henrietta Rush Central School District, NY
→ Bruce Schmidt, Asst. Superintendent, Greater Albany Public Schools, OR
They'll share how they built clear, responsible practice, kept teachers confident and in control, and gave administrators the visibility they need to lead.
If you're working through the space between "we've adopted AI" and "we own how we use it," come with your questions and leave with a plan.

It makes a difference when the people building AI for educators understand what happens in a classroom.
Christopher Holt, Supervisor of Instructional Technology at Hillsborough County Public Schools, shares how his team’s experience working with MagicSchool reflects that goals to everyday instructional challenges, conversations start with a shared understanding of what educators need. There’s less time spent explaining the context and more time spent finding solutions.
It's just one of the reasons having educators involved in building MagicSchool matters so much. 💜

92% of survey respondents say their school or district is piloting or operationalizing AI for student use. Only 23% say educators have a great deal of visibility into how students are using it.
That gap is where good intentions meet guesswork, and 75% of educators say students rvision or guidance when using AI.
MagicStudent gives teachers a place to do exactly that. Educators set the boundaries and guide every student interaction, while district leaders get the visibility and oversight to match.
Source: Hanover Research, May 2026 (550 K–12 educators and education leaders).

We asked Jeremy Hill, MagicSchool Ambassador and AI Educator of the Year, and his daughter for their wow moments at ISTE.
Jeremy’s is what MagicStudent means for learning at home. Teachers build a Student Room from their own materials, and kids can get help from those materials ing a photo of handwritten math work. In his words, “every single kid can learn at home if they want to.”
His daughter’s is the math review generator. She says it walks her through each step of an equation and makes sure she understands why she’s doing it.

Every image MagicSchool generates goes through a moderation pipeline before it reaches a classroom.
Caroline Humphrey, Staff Product Manager at MagicSchool, explains how grade level and pedagogical context shape each image, and how our moderation pipeline vets results so they're dents and teachers.
This clip comes from our Tech & Learning Awards of Excellence session, where Caroline also demos the new presentation generator and answers audience questions on curriculum and pedagogy.

Denver Public Schools spent a year deciding what it would trust with its classrooms before a single teacher logged in.
Their AI Steering Committee ran a structured pilot, issued an RFP, and let teacher, student, and community feedback guide the decision. The result is a rollout own AI guidance, with custom tools for departments from special education to communications.
In a new case study from Common Sense Privacy, DPS and MagicSchool share how independent validation, strong safeguards, and a thoughtful approach to implementation helped build trust along the way.
Dr. Kali Peracchia, Lead AI Instructional Specialist at Denver Public Schools, describes the partnership as “thoughtful, exciting, and responsible.”
What does it take to build trust in a district-wide AI partnership?
